Compassionate & Safe Massage Therapy

for Complex Health Journeys

Mindful therapeutic massage therapy treatments designed for medically complex patients.

An elderly woman in a purple headscarf and matching clothing relaxing in a beige armchair with her eyes closed, while a caregiver holds her foot. The room has soft lighting, a candle, and decorative plants and flowers.

After working with patients across nearly every unit of UCLA Ronald Reagan and Santa Monica hospitals, we found that some of the most meaningful and impactful massage therapy sessions were when working with our oncology and palliative care patients and their families. However, many patients would lose access to this specialized, supportive massage therapy care once they returned home.

At Zenpath, our mission is to provide safe, therapeutic, and mindfully trained massage therapists for adults and children living with cancer and autoimmune disorders — all in the comfort of their own homes in Santa Monica, California.

Offering Specialized Massage Therapy for Oncology, Autoimmune & Lymphatic Wellness

Oncology Massage

60-minute sessions

For individuals affected by cancer treatment. Whether you are currently in treatment or in remission, lingering side effects from surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, or other medical interventions may still impact quality of life.

These sessions are also appropriate for individuals suffering from flareups of autoimmune conditions, including but not limited to sickle cell disease, cystic fibrosis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis, who may benefit from additional therapeutic support, comfort, and relaxation.

We have found these sessions are often most comfortable when performed in the part of the home where the individual naturally rests or sleeps, such as their own bed, recliner, or favorite chair, as traditional massage tables may feel too rigid or difficult to get onto comfortably.

Session time includes a detailed medical intake to ensure care is safe, personalized, and supportive of each individual’s unique needs.

Lymphatic Support Massage

80-minute sessions

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique designed to support the body’s lymphatic system and encourage healthy fluid movement, circulation, and healing. The Vodder Technique is a well-known and widely respected form of lymphatic massage used in wellness, spa, and clinical settings around the world.

This light-touch therapy may help support the body during recovery from:

  • Surgery or post-operative swelling

  • Pregnancy and postpartum changes

  • Inflammatory conditions

  • Scarring and burns

  • Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia

  • Maintenance of autoimmune conditions

  • General swelling, sluggishness, or feelings of heaviness

Lymphatic massage can also be especially beneficial for people who are 5+ years in remission from cancer treatment and are looking for gentle, restorative support for overall wellness and recovery.

Sessions are typically performed on a comfortable massage table using gentle pressure. The goal is to help reduce swelling, support healing, encourage relaxation, and leave the body feeling lighter and more balanced.

What Is Oncology Massage?

And more FAQ’s..

Oncology massage blends clinical knowledge with compassionate presence.

A certified oncology massage therapist understands how cancer and treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery can affect the body both physically and emotionally. They make thoughtful adjustments throughout the session to ensure the massage is safe and supportive.

These adjustments may include:

  • Using lighter pressure

  • Changing the length of the session

  • Modifying positioning for comfort

  • Avoiding sensitive areas such as ports, incisions, or painful sites

  • Taking precautions for lymphedema risk and other treatment-related concerns

The goal of oncology massage is to provide comfort, relaxation, and supportive care while honoring each person’s unique experience and healing process.
